Vokka ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the Vokka mobile application, and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

Voice recordings. When you use voice features, your audio is sent to our server and forwarded to a third-party speech-to-text provider (Groq or OpenAI Whisper) for transcription. Audio data is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers.

Chat messages. Text messages you send are forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI responses. Message content is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers.

Profile and learning data. Your language profile (level, goals, session history, vocabulary, errors) is stored locally on your device only using AsyncStorage. We do not have access to this data.

Analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events (e.g. screens visited, features used). No personally identifiable information is included. You can opt out at any time from the app settings.

We do not maintain a user database. No personal data, voice recordings, or conversations are stored on our servers. All learning data remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Children's Privacy

Vokka is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
